Breaking Point

Author’s POV

The house felt… different after they left.Too quiet.Too still. Like something important had just been shaken.

Divyansh stood in the living room.Exactly where she had left him.His hands clenched. His jaw tight. His mind replaying everything.

Every word. Every expression. Especially—

His mother’s.

“Maa…”

His voice broke the silence.

Ridha didn’t look at him immediately.

“Abhi nahi, Divu.”

“Abhi hi,” he said.

Firm.Not loud.But this wasn’t a request.

She turned. And for the first time—

There was tension in her eyes.

“Aapne bina samjhe mana kar diya.” His voice held hurt.

“Main samajh rahi hoon,” she replied. “Bas tum nahi samajh rahe.”

He laughed softly.A bitter one.

“Kya samajhun?” “Ki ek ladki jo perfect hai… woh sirf isliye galat ho gayi kyunki woh mujhse badi hai?”

Ridha’s expression tightened. “Baat sirf age ki nahi hai!”

“Toh kis baat ki hai, Maa?”

Silence. Heavy. Uncomfortable.

Ridha finally spoke.

“Woh ladki… Vivek ke liye zyada suitable hai.”

The moment froze.

Divyansh didn’t react immediately. As if his mind refused to process it.

“…Kya?”

“Maine bas socha…” she continued, a little unsure now,

“Vivek settled hai, mature hai…”

“Uske saath woh zyada match karegi.”

Something inside Divyansh snapped.

Emotional Break

“Maa…”

His voice dropped. Lower. More dangerous.

“Main yahan apni shaadi ki baat kar raha hoon…”

“Aur aap usse bhai ke liye soch rahi ho?”

Ridha looked at him.

“I was just thinking practically—”

“Practical?” he cut in. A sharp laugh escaped him. “Mujhe nahi pata tha ki pyaar aur choice bhi aaj kal transfer ho sakti hai.”

That hit.Hard. Vinayak Intervenes

“Bas.” Vinayak’s voice finally entered.

Calm.But firm.

“Tone control karo.”

Divyansh exhaled heavily. Trying. But failing.

“Papa, aap hi bataiye…”

“Galat kya hai isme?”

Vinayak didn’t answer immediately. Because for the first time—

He was actually thinking deeply.

Avni’s POV

The car ride back was silent.Too silent.Avyaan didn’t say anything.Neither did I.

I stared outside the window.

The city looked the same. But something inside me didn’t.I had expected rejection.I had prepared for it. So why did it still hurt? Maybe because this time—

I didn’t want to lose. I closed my eyes. And for the first time in a long while—

My control slipped. A tear rolled down.

Quiet.Unnoticed. Or so I thought.

Avyaan Notices

“Di…” His voice was soft.

I wiped my face quickly. “I’m fine.”

He didn’t argue. Didn’t question. Just said—

“Woh ladka theek hai.”

I looked at him. Surprised.

“Par usse prove karna padega.”

That was his approval. In his own way.

Author’s pov

Singh’s house

“Mujhe bas ek baat batao, Divyansh,” Vinayak finally spoke.

“Yeh sirf attraction hai… ya decision?”

Divyansh didn’t hesitate.

“Decision.”

“Pura?”

“Pura.”

Vinayak studied him.Long.Carefully.

Then he looked at Ridha.

And something shifted.

Turning Point

“Ridha…”

His tone softer now.

“Ladki buri nahi hai.”

Ridha didn’t respond.

He continued—

“Sach kahun… mujhe pasand hai.”

Divyansh looked at him.

Hope.

For the first time since the argument began.

Final Push

“Maa…”

Divyansh spoke again.

But this time—

His voice was softer.

Not angry.

Just… honest.

“Main perfect nahi hoon. Na meri life perfect hai. Par main usse khush rakh sakta hoon.”

A pause.

“Please… meri choice pe trust kijiye.”

Ridha looked at him.Not as a child. But as a man.And that changed something.

She sighed.

Long.Heavy.

“Thik hai…”

Silence.

“Main mana nahi kar rahi.”

Relief flooded the room. But she added—

“Par yeh easy nahi hoga.”

Divyansh nodded instantly.

“I know.”

Vinayak spoke—

“Toh phir… aage badhte hain.”

Divyansh walked back to his room.

Sat on his bed.

And finally—

Smiled.Tired.Relieved.Grateful.

He picked up his phone.

Typed one message.

Divyansh:

We’re not done yet.

But… we’re not over either.

Avni’s POV

My phone buzzed.

I read the message.

And for the first time since leaving that house—

I smiled.

A small one.

But real.
